URGENT REQUEST for EMR T&F Championships
Friday, 22 January 2010 09:26
Waverley Little Athletics is required to provide a Key Official at the up and coming EMR T&F Qualifying Championships on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of February at Knox Little Athletics Centre.
The position we have been allocated is Chief Uniform Manager for both Saturday and Sunday, so I'm asking for anyone willing share the role with Darrin (Waverley Secretary). Darrin is willing to cover both mornings and I am looking for a volunteer for the afternoons.
Please note: The centre is required (must) provide 2 Key Official at this event.

Under 16s
Wednesday, 03 February 2010 21:44
Waverley is expanding to include Under 16s from next season. Athletes are reminded that from around Under 13 and above they can have dual membership (no extra cost) with Athletics Victoria and compete with our "seniors" club Athletics Waverley on Saturday afternoons ! It's a great way to stay fit, active and socialable, and you may even be able to convince mum and/or dad to "have a go" too. There are plenty of us "oldies" running around having a run, jump, throw and even hurdle - Athletics Victoria - Dual & Youth Athletics Flyer

State Multis - Bendigo
Wednesday, 20 January 2010 21:32
Seventeen (minus 2 late withdrawals due to illness) Waverley athletes ventured to Bendigo over the weekend to compete in the 2010 State Multi Event Championships in very hot conditions ! We had "high expectations" of this group and they certainly didn't let us down We had quite a few "first timers" who are to be congratulated on their efforts amongst the best in Victoria ! Thank you to Kate Sanford for "skippering the ship" so very well and all of the parents (many of which had multiple duties to attend to) for keeping the kids in such good shape for competition over the long day (and weekend for some!)
Our three MEDALIST'S kept our "hearts pounding with excitement and pride" right to the very last event of the day. Ellie Sanford, Ellie Masters & Finlay Rennie all came away with BRONZE medals after "inspirational runs in their 800m races" Ebony Sturgess fell agonisingly short of 3rd place by a few points, Dalton DiMedio was awesome all day for 5th, Nela Debicki and Jordan Warren were both gallant in 8th positions to feature in the podium finalists presentations !

Waverley Games Day - 23/01/2010
Wednesday, 20 January 2010 21:32
Congratulations to all the medal winners from our Multi Event Day on Saturday. Hopefully your efforts will inspire many of you to enter next years State Multi Event Championships and represent Waverley with pride and passion! GOOD LUCK to the 15 - 20 athletes going to Bendigo for State Multi's this weekend. We have some "strong medal chances" and all of Waverley wishes you the best of luck
Thank you also to all the parents for helping with the running of the day. Many of you took on NEW DUTIES with the low holiday weekend attendance numbers, and having the morning finished, Presentations completed and all packed away well before noon was tremendous (and with the "rain showers" to contend with too) !
The table of RESULTS from Saturday can be viewed here ! BOYS GIRLS
